Solar Sunwerx partner Jinko Solar will supply approximately 319,600 high-efficiency JinkoSolar PV solar panels for a new Solar Power farm in Cape Town South Africa, enough to supply a total amount of 274 MWp following an agreement with leading renewable energy company ACCIONA.

The Cape Town solar farm will eradicate approximately 198,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide from coal-fired power plants. 94MWp of high-efficiency solar modules will be supplied starting from November 2013 through September 2014, for the solar farm located in Northern Cape Province, South Africa making it one of the largest on the African continent with only two solar plants capable of generating higher electricity outputs.

JinkoSolar will also supply 24,07 MWp of high-efficiency solar modules starting from October 2013 through December 2013 for the Royalla PV Plant located in the ACT territory of Australia, which will be built by Acciona Energy Oceania. Establishing a solar farm of this size will provide enough energy to supply up to an impressive 4,500 houses in the Canberra area establishing it as one of the largest of its kind in Australia.

“It is an honor to work with ACCIONA on the milestone project in South Africa and Australia as a beginning, which will not only substantially diversify South Africa and Australia’s clean energy mix, but will also set a good example of solar energy,” said Chairman of Jinko solar Mr. Xiande Li. “We will work closely with ACCIONA, our reliable partner, to fulfil our shared commitment to delivering affordable solar electricity to the world.”

Jinko Solar supply solar panels for utility installations as well as commercial and residential installations with a customer base reaching across 10 countries including South Africa, Australia, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, the United States, Canada, France, and Eastern Europe.
