Use energy, store it, feed it to the grid
Just like a standard grid-connected solar system the electricity generated by your solar panels in immediately utilised by whatever appliances are operating at the time (air-conditioners, televisions, washing machines, refrigerators).
Excess power is then directed into an array of batteries to be stored for later use. Once they have reached their maximum charge capacity your solar energy will be exported to the grid and you will receive a credit on your electricity appropriate to your feed-in tariff.
Outside of peak solar production hours, any electricity stored in your battery array will be utilised first. Finally when the batteries are depleted your household will draw electricity from the grid as required.
